I'll be flying in and out of Vienna but visiting my daughter in Sarajevo and doing some travel in Croatia too. Question:what's the quickest and least # train changing stops to get to Sarajevo from Vienna. Also is there a bus that may be quicker? Any suggestions on cheap flights between the two? Help!

Actually, there is train service between Vienna and Sarajevo. It's just not direct and it's a long ride.
According to www.bahn.de, the fastest route would mean leaving Vienna at 06:25, changing in Budapest, and arriving in Sarajevo at 21:39.
If you want to save the cost of a night in a hotel, leave Vienna at 10:57, change in Villach, and change in Zagreb. The night train leaves Zagreb at 20:49 and arrives in Sarajevo at 06:20.
