Best Rental Car drop off location outside of Paris for Hertz

We are renting from Hertz at CDG and visiting Normandy area for a few days. When returning to Paris, we want a drop-off location for Hertz, where we can catch a train into the city. We had decided on the Louvre location, but now are thinking best not to drive into the city. Can you help please ? Thank you !

Hertz has an outlet on the western edge of Paris just inside the Peripherique ring road and within a few blocks of the Porte Maillot Metro station and the Nueilly-Porte Maillot RER station. It would be easy to get there coming from Normandy.

We thought going back into CDG after our visit to Normandy was going a little backwards - so we thought we'd drop off a bit outside of Paris. Do you know the name of the location that we should look for outside of the peripherique road ? Someone suggested going to Caen (on Western Europe site), but we are staying in Honfleur on our first night. Do you think taking the train, after our flight, to Caen - then driving to Honfleur makes sense, or should we stick to our plan of renting at CDG and driving to Honfleur/Bayeux/Mont St. Michel - then returning to somewhere outside Paris ? Thanks again for your responses.

If you will arrive in Paris in mid-July or later, then definitely stick to your plan to pick up a car at CDG and drive to Honfleur. Starting around 15 July, major work will begin on the tracks on the line going from Paris to Caen. The normal 2-hour direct ride will take 3-5 hours and will require one or more connections. The address for the Hertz outlet near Porte Maillot is 27 Rue Saint-Ferdinand Paris 75017. The hours are 07:00-21:00 Monday-Friday, 07:00-20:00 on Saturday, and 08:00-21:00 on Sunday. I just called up a map of Paris on viamichelin.com. It looks like the Hertz outlet is just about as close to the Argentine Metro station as it is to either of the stations I listed above.

We took the train from CDG to Bayeux and rented from Hertz there. We toured Bayeux, the battlefields and Mt. St. Michael and ended up in Honfleur. We were supposed to return the rental car to the Hertz location in Rouen, but unfortunately my husband got sick and we had to change our plans, but that should have worked well.

Thank you, Tim. I believe this is going to work out well.
