Where would the best places to hang out and to find good food
at London Heathrow. We will be in Terminal 1 and Terminal 5.
We had lunch at Gordon Ramsay on Terminal 5 a year or so ago. It was very good but not cheap.
There the Wagamama noodle place in terminal 5. Like the previous poster said, it won't be cheap.
thank you
Number one favorite, terminal 5: Giraffe. Great sandwiches, salads, main dishes, fish & chips, and it is very reasonable. It is after security. Have eaten at this place about 6 times; always good. Look for their other locations in downtown London. I think they have small hamburgers, grilled cheese, or spaghetti for kids. Never had a child with me when eating there, but I'm pretty sure I saw these things on other tables. Love Giraffe! Before security, at Terminal 5, is Caffe Nero. Excellent coffee and pastries and Mediterranean-style sandwiches. Yummy sandwiches, $7 to $15. Have eaten here one time. Very pleased.
The words "good food" and "Airport" don't often occur in the same sentence.
Hi, For good food at Heathrow airport I find Huxleys to fit the description, very nice setting, efficient and polite service, plus good food. Once you clear security, Huxleys is right there. I can't remember the terminal but it's the one used by British Airways flying to the West Coast.
I have used Cafe Rouge at Terminal 3 when grabbing a meal between a transatlantic/European fight. Crowded but food is ok and not as expensive as some cafes. For a really special treat I like the oyster/smoked salmon bar in the security lounge at Terminal 3 - good place for a nice light lunch before the long haul home.
Keep in mind that if you are looking to grab something to go, often at Heathrow, if changing terminals, you wind up going through security again. So those liquids or oozey things you get, you may lose.

I'm with Rebecca. Giraffe is always a winner.
