My husband and I will be staying in Miltenberg, Germany during our vacation. I know there is a local train station in Miltenberg, but if we wanted to drive to a nearby town to catch one of the "quicker" trains to Munich and Salzburg, what would be the best town to go to, Aschaffenburg, Heidelberg or somewhere else? Also, are there areas to park our vehicle for the day at the train station?

I suppose it's Aschaffenburg but by the time you've driven there, found a park and ride parking and all you'd probably be there by local train as well. Also there is cost attached with parking whereas the thru-fare from Miltenberg to whereever you want to go is probably much cheaper than car (keep in mind that over here you pay €1.30 per liter of diesel which means $7.18 per gallon!!! regular gas is $1 more per gallon!), parking plus rail fare...
