We will be driving from Zurich to Prague and I thought Munich would be a good stopover for the night. Does anyone have a suggestion? I don’t want to drive into the centre of Munich. Thanks
Dachau also works and you could tour the museum while there.
When we went to Prague we left from Munich, but it was a long drive, especially with you adding in Zurich as well. I would suggest staying in Nuremberg, Germany if you didn’t want to stay in Munich. This will put you 3.5 hours from Prague. Nuremberg has a lot of history and is a beautiful city!
Regensburg is on the direct shortest driving route and a little over half way. Worth a stop.
An alternative to Regensburg would be Landshut with its pretty old town. If you decide on Regensburg, I could recommend a hotel that is within the old town but right next to a parking garage: Hotel am Peterstor. Not particularly plush, but comfortable enough for one night and only 10 minutes from the autobahn.
