My husband and I need to get from Munich, Germany, to anywhere near Cinque Terre, Italy and we need help finding the cheapest and quickest way to get there. Thank you for your help!!

It's a long train ride during the day. It's also long overnight, but at least you can sleep enroute. Take a direct night train from Muenchen to Firenze and other trains from there. See the timetables at www.bahn.de. Click on the drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner for English. After you get summary timetables for Muenchen to the Cinque Terre town of your choice, click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points.
Or fly Germanwings from Muenchen to Milano Malpensa (changing planes in Koeln-Bonn) and take trains from there.
