travelling from Italy (probably Rome) to Paris, and then onto London - whats the fastest and cheapest options?
sherri, Unless you want to stop and sightsee at intermediate locations in Italy, the easiest and cheapest method would be an EasyJet flight from Roma / FCO to Paris / ORY. Flight time is about two hours. As with most budget airlines in Europe, you'll get the best prices by booking WELL in advance. It's important to read the "Terms & Conditions" carefully, especially related to baggage allowances. Flights are usually non-refundable and non-changeable once booked. There will inevitably be a few "fees" added to the cost of fares when you book. If you think your checked luggage may be over their allowable weight limit, it's better to pay the overage charges at the time of booking, rather than at the gate. It will be much cheaper that way. One final point to note is that most of the budget carriers allow only ONE carry-on item, of the approved size. They WILL check and this is non-negotiable. Cheers!
If you fly from Rome to Paris, your budget airline choices are easyJet, Vueling, and Ryanair. EasyJet and Vueling fly FCO-Orly and Ryanair flies Treviso-Beauvais. While Ryanair may have the cheapest fares, both Treviso and Beauvais are outlying airports so you'll have extra time and expense getting to and from them. Take the Eurostar from Paris to London. City center to city center in just over two hours. Book ASAP (up to 120 days allowed) at eurostar.com to get the lowest fare. Last minute tickets are very expensive.
