What is the width of aisles on Italian trains?

If you question is best luggage size for trail travel, then stick to carry on size 22" by 14" by 9".
You will have a devil of a time getting larger pieces on and off the train, and also finding a spot in which to store it.
The aisles are slightly wider than on a plane, but trains can be very crowded and there isn't a luggage storage area (you can leave it at the back of a car, but then I'd worry about leaving it unattended)

Im surprised no one mentioned - but on this web site - the RS-fans should say it doesnt mater what kind of travel you do - LIGHT is always the best way regardless of train plane of auto or skateboard or walking. Keep it to carry on size and a daypack and youll be flying on and off the train regardless of how crowded!
