When shopping for Airline tickets is there a " best day of the week " to make the purchase? I am not talking about the day of the week to fly, but the day of the week to make the purchase.

There was an article about this in the Wall Street Journal this week; I think it might have been yesterday. The conclusion was that in general, weekdays are better than weekends, and Tuesday is the best day. But that's in general; it doesn't always hold.

I have heard Tuesdays are best because that is the day most airlines load fare changes into their computer systems.
