best choice pass on brit rail?

we will be flying into gatwick and taking a train on june 6 to evasham, returning june 10 to london then taking a train to heathrow on the 13th. We can get a 2 days of 8 or a 4 days of 8, both come with coupons for travel to airports. My question is, can i use the coupons after we have done the 2 days travel from redditch and back or should i buy the 4 day passes for the 3 of us??? thanks in advance, i find it very confusing dorie

I assume you are talking about the London Plus Pass.

First the good news. According to the information given by Rick Steves in his Railpasses section (click on the tab at the top of the page you're reading now), you must validate the pass before you use the coupons on one of the airport trains. You can use the coupons for up to six months after you've used your last travel day.

Now the bad news. According to both the information on the BritRail site and the map on the RS site, Redditch is beyond the area covered by the pass.

There is no advance purchase discount fare for London-Evesham. The standard fare is £30.50. The standard London-Redditch fares are £69.50 (peak hours) and £42.50 (off-peak hours). But if you book well in advance at www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com, you can get a discount fare as low as £5. Discount fares are posted 60-80 days out. London-Redditch requires making a connection in Birmingham.

FYI, there is bus service but no train service between Evesham and Redditch.
