best/cheapest way to fly Paris to Rome

We will be flying from Paris to Rome during Spring Break. Even though we are flying on a Tuesday, it is fairly expensive. Ryanair seems much cheaper than Vueling but I think the airports they use are not as conveniently located. Also, it looks like there are lots of extra fees. Do you have any suggestions/experiences with this?

What day are you flying? Ryanair flies out of Beauvais airport, about 75 minutes by bus from the Porte Maillot bus station in NW Paris (an extra 16 Euro, if I remember correctly) and into Ciampino airport, which isn't too bad. You might also want to check out easyjet. Simply go thru each booking process very carefully and see what the final prie is before paying...that'll give you the best indication as to comparative prices. However, booking a discount airline flight now for spring break in March is leaving it a little late....so you may have to grab what you find.

According to the RyanAir website, the shuttle costs €13. The shuttle does not run regularly, but is timed to specific flights and leaves Porte Maillot 3 hrs before flight time. Ryan recommends getting to Porte Maillot 15 minutes before bus departure time (3h 15m before flight time).

The bus from Ciampino airport to Rome's Termini (main) train station costs €6, leaves Ciampino 20 min after flight arrival and arrives at Termini 1 hr after flight arrival.

The Ryanair flight from Beauvais to Ciampino takes 2 hrs, so you will have 6h 15min of travel (plus time getting to Porte Maillot). To Ryan's fare add €19 for ground transportation.

In May, I see two daily flights from "Paris" to "Rome". On leaves Beauvais at 9:15, meaning you must be at Porte Maillot at 6 AM. The other gets into Ciampino at 23:15, which means it gets into Rome after midnight.

Ryan advertises the price at €19,99, but after taxes, fees, and recommended ground transportation, it costs more like €62.

Thanks for the easyjet recommendation. I think we will go with them. The ORLY airport in paris is much more convenient than the one ryanair uses and with all the ryanair fees, they are about the same price.
