If you need to rent a car in Europe (GERMANY) it is best to rent the car through GEMUT.COM.
I have been renting a car through them every year that I go to Europe. Bob Bestor is your main contact there and he has always found a way to get me the best pricing on a car (I always rent a seven passenger van which is a bit of a challenge!) He found a way to save me money on a 3 week rental by suggesting that I do not pick up the car at the airport counter, rather 10KM away at the downtown Frankfurt Hertz office. This past year, I had a small accident in Switzerland and I reached out to Bob immediately to get instructions on what to do. Within minutes I received an email with the do's and don'ts on how to handle the claim, the return of the car, etc.. Yes- there are many little things you would need to know and its nice to know that GEMUT is available to support you. My claim went through without a hitch as I followed all of Bob's instructions (I used my credit card for the insurance and it worked great). Bob also has a written a PDF on how to rent cars in Europe which is on his web site. This is also very helpful information when you are trying to figure out how to handle the Collision Damage Waiver, etc.. I have been renting cars from GEMUT for the past years and it works out great every time. My sister that works for Lufthansa is also a fan of GEMUT as she often has the need to rent a car in Europe. Give Bob a call and visit his website- check out their pricing. Thank you Bob for helping me this past summer with my rental. Best Wishes- Stefan V. Milwaukee Wisconsin
