We're going to London in January for a Road Scholar (elderhostel) tour. We need to fly from Seattle to Heathrow as cheaply, yet comfortably, as possible. Can anyone recommend the best airline to use?

Colleen, you can use Kayak.com or other websites to find the cheapest fare, and then decide if it suits your needs. Right nowfor January, 2011, are offered by icelandair, for around $700 round trip, with the exact price depending on your dates of travel. This flight would involve a stop in Iceland on the way. Other airlines offer flights with one stop, from $800 on up. By comparison, the non-stop flight on British Airways, which is most convenient and we find very comfortable, is around $1025 (again, depending on your actual dates of travel). You'll have to make the decision on cost versus comfort and convenience.
