Best Air Fares from Chicago to Manchester to Rome and return.

Must travel from Chicago to Manchester, England for business, then on to Rome for vacation and return to Chicago. Air Fares seem high right now. Any suggestions?

Phil: Airfares are high through the Summer. European and Mid East socio-economics are also up in the air with rising jet fuel costs. Ticket supply and demand is another issue, and there is an Iran/Israel issue to be settled in coming months. April/May and September/October are the best months for European travel. You should research your flight options by using the "multi city" section on Kayak.com using the dates desired. It may be less expensive to fly from Manchester (Jet2.com) into Rome FCO by budget carrier. Flights run between $50 and $150, depending on day of the week and demand. Then, pickup on the other half of your original ticket out of FCO.
