Bernina Express or Wilhelm Tell

Which is the more spectacular/ scenic ? I'll be arriving in Zurich and could go to Lucerne or Chur to head south to Lake Como area. Thanks,

The Bernina Express is more scenic, and its scenic sector is longer if you consider the approach to St. Moritz.

Having travelled on both last year, definitely the Bernina Express.

My husband and I did both three years ago. We loved every minute of the trips. We left Lake Lucerne on the William Tel and went to Lugano. We stayed in Lugano for five nights at a lovely hotel. It was at the bottom of the funicular, right below the train station. Then we went by train over to Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and to Milan for the day trips. Then we got on the bus, which started the Bernina Express, in Lugano. We then ended the day in Zurich. The ride on Lake Lucerne was beautiful, but so was the train through the Alps. Switzerland is beautiful. W just didn't care for all the smokers in Bern, Zurich, Lugano and Milan. They even smoke indoors, holding their precious babies. The smoking actually ruined many of our eating experiences and train station experiences.

@Elaine, I haven't noticed as much smoking in Switzerland in the last few years. Maybe they're finally "getting with the program" and reducing smoking in public places. One can only hope so!
