Berlin TXL: time needed to clear customs, claim bags

Hi, My husband, teen daughter and I are flying into Berlin Texel and will need to fly out that same day to London. These flights are not code sharing. How much time should we allow to clear customs, claim our bags, and go through security again? I am hoping 2 hours is enough. (a June Sunday 7:30am arrival time with Berlin Air, 9:25am departure with Lufthansa) Otherwise, we will need to wait until 12:20 for a British Airways flight. Thanks for any advice!

Two hours is not enough. What happens if your plane from TX is an hour late? or even 30 minutes? Some of the European airlines have a very rigid cut off time of 45 minutes so you really only have an hour, 15. If the ticket is nonrefundable, I would not book it.

Tegel is a tiny airport and flights from the US usually get in early because of tail winds. At TXL you check in, drop of your luggage at the very gate your flight departs. If I were you I'd "risk" taking the Lufthansa flight. Also because there is absolutely nothing for you to do until 12:20... and not even a real sitting area.
