I need to get from Berlin to Paris and wondered if anyone has any recommendations on doing this. My German and French speaking son and I are willing to travel at any time of day or night and are open to any and all forms of transort sans driving unless it's the way to go. We'd like to keep cost down. TIA for any tips. This will be our first time in France.
A daytime rail journey take about 8.5 hours with a change in Frankfurt. There is also a direct night train that departs at 8pm and arrives 9:30am. You can check schedules and book tickets at the DB site: www.bahn.de
There are discount airlines that do the route as well. Check out www.whichbudget.com for a list of the airlines.
For cheap flights check with swoodoo.com. Make sure you read the respective airline's luggage regulations carefully as there might be some hidden charges.
Unless I'm missing something, Swoodo doesn't appear to be available in English.
