Will I need to book any kind of reservation for this trip if we have the eurail pass that includes germany? I am looking to go from Berlin to Munich then Munich to Rome. Thanks.

You might want to have a seat reservation for the ICE from Berlin to Munich, but it is not required. You can get one in advance online from the Bahn website for €5,50 per seat. Same price at a counter in Berlin.

I'll agree with Lee (the resident expert on German trains, btw). I took that ICE, and there were people on my train who had to move after nearly every stop because someone got on the train and had the seat they were in reserved.
