Hi, Anyone flown the evening Ryanair from Milan-Bergamo airport to Frankfurt=Hahn? Just looking for another way to enjoy my Europe experience! Thanks
You do realize, I hope, that Frankfurt-"Hahn" is nowhere near Frankfurt.
Same point as Lee's, Hahn is not Frankfurt, it's about 75 miles from Frankfurt.
Kathy, Budget air is perhaps a good option on that route if travel time is a concern, as travelling by train will be a minimum of 8H:51M. Another option you might consider would be a flight from Milan / MXP to Frankfurt / FRA using Air Berlin. However, you'll have to watch the Fares carefully for a few months prior to departure in order to get a reasonably good deal. As always, be sure to read the "Terms & Conditions" carefully when dealing with the Euro airlines. In reality, I suspect the travel times between rail and air may be quite close. I believe the MXP-FRA flights are about 5.5 hours. You'll have to add to that the time and cost to get to the airport, and of course all the usual check-in, security, waiting times, and the time to get from the airport to the city at the destination. Under the circumstances, I'd probably find the train a more "enjoyable experience".
Careful ... Ryanair announced yesterday that they are abandoning Hahn....
But if RyanAir abandons Hahn, what airport will they misrepresent as "Frankfurt"?
Hi travelers, thank you for all these great insights. Yes, i am aware of the distance bet. Frankfurt-Hahn and Frankfurt; we are staying the night in Mainz to catch the train then flight to Charlotte. Hadnt heard about abandonment of Hahn A/P. That could be a problem! I suppose the worst that can happen is i find a midnight train goin' anywhere (sorry, Journey just popped into my head!) Will research more. Thank you all for your thoughtful replies.
