Which is better? to travel from Bellagio to Lake Como and then to Milan and La Spezia or take the ferry from Bellagio to Varenna and then Milan?

Not sure we understand the question. Bellagio is on Lake Como. Do you mean travel Bellagio to Como by bus or ferry then on to Milan by train, vs Bellagio to Varenna by ferry then on to Milan by train? By better, do you mean fastest, cheapest, or least changes?

Looks like the easiest and fast is by Varenna. Just a 15 min crossing on the ferry. There appear to be 4 good connections, one every 2 hours starting at 10:37 direct to Milano Centrale, change to direct train to La Spezia Centrale. Journey time Var to La Sp 4 h 41 min.
