We received our tickets today for the night train from Berlin to Paris. How are the beds numbered? We have 41, 45, 51, 55, and I'm just trying to make sure we have the beds in two double compartments.

That sounds about right to me. The bed numbers are based on the seat number in the old 6 person compartments where the seats might have been numbered 41-46 or 51-56 in each compartment. Now with only 2 beds per compartments, they've lost some numbers. There might be better accounting for seat numbers on www.citynightline.ch or on maninseat61. Here is CNL's layout. It looks like you have two two private doubles two doors apart, ie, separated by an intervening single/double compartment.
