I fly into Beauvais airpot at about 10:30 pm, then want to go to Vimy Ridge, outside Arras, the next day. Using public transportation, how can I get there without going into Paris? Any recommendations for hotels in Beauvais? Thanks in advance for any responses.

According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, other than going via Paris (which you can do any day), your other options depend upon what day of the week you will be traveling. Monday-Saturday you can take an early morning bus from Beauvais to Amiens and a train from there to Arras. It looks like the bus doesn't run on Sundays. To see this for yourself on the DB site, click on the drop-down flag menu for English. After you get summary timetables for Beauvais-Arras, click on the arrow to the left of each departure time to see the connecting points.
