I am looking at the best possible routing to use the bayern ticket, we will be staying in Munich, would like to see fussen, part of the southern romantic road, Dachau and maybe day trip to Salzburg? Help please from all of you with the working train knowledge! If it helps we are traveling from Paris via the train and could possibly do part of this on our way to Munich. Thanks so much!

In the first place, you do not need a Bayern-Ticket for Dachau if you are already staying in Munich. Dachau is in the second trarif zone, and a Munich XXL ticket, €7,50 for one person, €13,10 for up to 5 P (price after Dec 12) will cover your travel by S-Bahn from anywhere in the inner two zones to Dachau and back and the RT bus to the Memorial. The Bayern-Ticket is valid for regional trains. A lot of travel in Bavaria is on routes with regional trains (RE and RB). You can find these routes by clicking "local transport only" on the German Rail website. Although there are express trains (ICE/IC/EC), on which the Bayern-Ticket is not valid from Munich to Salzburg, regional trains only take about 1/2 hr longer than the express trains.
