Bayern Lander Pass on the Bahn and in Munich

Is my Bavarian "Lander Pass"also good for use on Munich's subway, trams and busses? I will be making day trips with three others from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and looking for cheapest way to cover trips both downtown and out to Dachau.

The €29 Bayern-Ticket is also valid on all means of transport in the Verkehrsverbünde (metro districts) in Bavaria, including the MVV. That would be useful if you were going out to Füssen for the day and needed to use transportation in Munich to get to the Hbf first. However, for transportation within the MVV, if that's all you are doing for the day, MVV has Tageskarten (day tickets). The inner zone ( Innenraum) contains just about everytning that anyone goes to Munich to see, from the Deutsches Museum to Schloss Nymphenburg or to the Pinokotheken. A day ticket for up to five people in the inner zone costs €9.80. Dachau is about the only popular venue outside the innerzone; it's in the second zone. An XXL Tageskarte includes Dachau station and the Memorial. An XXL Tageskarte (€12,80) will cover the S-Bahn to Dachau station and back plus the RT bus to the Memorial, plus any other travel in the inner two zones that day. And, yes, if you are coming into Munich from GaP for the day, it would cover regional trains to Munich and any conveyance within the entire ( Gesamt) Munich area for the day. Here is the S-/U-Bahn map of the entire MVV. It shows where you can go freely in Munich with a Bayern-Ticket. There are also streetcars. With the exception of a couple of stations streetcars run entirely in the inner zone. There are extensive bus lines (too many to show ex. on a huge file) throughout the MVV. And here is a map of the rail lines in Bavaria. You can use regional trains on any of these lines.
