I need some advice for planning a trip from Bath to Nantes. I'm assuming we'll need to take the bus or train back into London. I'm also assuming I'll need to pass through Paris on the way to Nantes. Anyone with specifics or details would be helpful. Thanks so much!
My choice would be train to Southampton or Exeter and then fly to Rennes, Both routes are flown by Flybe (www.flybe.com), but not necessarily every day and timings may vary.
Southampton Airport has its own railway station, and the air fare for 5th May is currently £35 ($72) including taxes.
Going via London and Paris is a long way round.
If the timing isn't right for flybe flights, you could take a train to Portsmouth, a ferry to Caen, and a train to Nantes. See www.directferries.co.uk for the ferry schedule and fares.
Wow. Even though I've made all my hotel reservations, and have airline tickets, I'm beginning to rethink my itinerary. Perhaps I shouldn't be worried about the long travel day.
Here's what's going on. Let me know if you think I should change things:
Arrive London
London 3 nights
Bath 2 nights
Nantes 2 nights (perhaps a third)
Paris (5 nights)
Depart Paris
