Basel to Dijon

I am trying ti figure out most direct way using train from Basel to Dijon France. (without going through Paris) Also what train line services this trip? I tried Rail Europe without much luck as not sure it serves Basel. Looks like Belfort france has a direct flight to Dijon but I am not sure how to get to Belfort from Basel???? Any help is appreciated...

Please don't look at Raileurope. They are a ticket broker. Runs from Basel to Dijon via Paris take up to 8hrs. The Swiss train website (www.sbb.ch/en) shows a one-change run at Neuchatel that takes 4hrs20min. The French train website (www.voyages-sncf.com) shows runs with 2 train changes that do avoid Paris. Journey time is 5hrs37min. A third way is to take the Swiss train from Basel to Lausanne and then change to the occassional non-stop TGV to Dijon. The trip to Lausanne from Basel takes 2hrs12min with one train change at Bern. The trip on the TGV to Dijon takes 2.0hrs.

"I tried Rail Europe without much luck as not sure it serves Basel." Raileurope doesn't serve anywhere. They are not a railroad; they are like a travel agent that sells railpasses and overpriced point-point tickets for Europe. European railroads (German Rail, French Rail, and Swiss Rail) serve Basel with plenty of trains, whether they show up on RailEurope's website, or not.
