You've left this very late. Train tickets in Europe need to be booked up to three months in advance for the best deals, and it's unlikely any cheap tickets will be left. You can try at tgv-europe.com, though.

For the best price still available, book your tickets on the Swiss Rail site, www.sbb.ch/en. The standard adult fare is 140 CHF each way. You can get discount fares for your children and pay a total of 544 CHF each way. At this late date the cheapest way to to make this trip would be to travel overnight on a Eurolines coach (highway bus). See www.eurolines.com.

On Swiss Rail, is the 15 yo a child or an adult? I found a one-way fare of €89 per adult (children free, €267 total) using a Europa-Spezial fare from German Rail or the 28th, Paris to Basel Bad Bahnhof (note: Basel Bad is a German Rail station in Basel, CH) via Mannheim. One day is too close to get the Europa-Spezial fare (requires 3 day advance purchase). Children over 14 are considered adults on German Rail.

Update: (I see <cr> and <br> still don't work. Have to separate paragraphs as separate posts.) I see 16 is the age limit for children in Switzerland.

FYI everyone else: Had he made these reservations well in advance, it could have been €117 each way.
