Any advice on how to get from Barcelona to Marrakech? We have about a week total for this trip and would like to spend time in both places; we can fly in and out of Barcelona (from Bologna, where we are currently based).
Royal Air Maroc would be my choice. Costs about $250 - $300 from Madrid -- and Barcelona is even cheaper for some reason. I've seen Ryan and Easyjet offer super-cheap deals from Madrid, but they never worked out for me.
Unsolicited opionion: Fez is better.
Agree with Ed that Fes has an edge over Marrakesh, but both are great and worthwhile.
I'd disagree about going via Royal Air Maroc. There are multiple low-fare airlines that do these routes.
I hate Ryanair but they do fly from Girona (somewhat near Barcelona, depending on your definition) to Fez for typical crazy low fares (40 Euro, plus gotchas). They also fly to Fes from several other Spanish cities.
For flights to Marrakesh, you should have more options. Vueling goes from Barcelona (BCN) fro under 100 Euro, and Ryanair goes from Girona. Check schedule and prices well in advance for all the sneaky gotchas; flights don't go every day.
Bottom line, you have many options that are cheap.
Have fun.
Thanks for this help. I did find flights on these airlines, and also on Vueling and Iberia. The difficulty I had I gather was because they are not on the days I was originally searching. Now I just have to figure out the trip.
