barcelona to girona

We are flying into Barcelona from the Canary Islands the 1st of September, then onto Greece from Girona the next day. Saved $$$$ doing it that way for anyone thinking of going from Spain to Greece. Anyway a couple of things.... 1. Do we have to clear customs and immigration in Barcelona or are the CI considered a part of Spain? 2. We am planning to get the train to Barcelona sants and then to Girona as we arrive too late to get the midday bus and don't want to waste the hours waiting for the later one. Would I need to book that ahead of time at that time of the year? Just not sure how much time to allow btw landing etc and getting to Barcelona sants to make a connection. 3. Any accomodation/restaurant recommendations in Girona? Our flight is 0700 from GRO and the dilemma is do we stay in 'old town' closer to the bus station (which seems to be the cheapest way to get to the airport) or Girona town a bit further away and take a cab to the airport? We will have the afternoon/evening to spend in Girona. Thanks for any suggestions

Hi, i would recomend Hotel Peninsular in Girona. We have stayed several times it is very central and there is plenty of choice for restaurants close by.
Enjoy Girona.
