Barcelona - Term 1 to Raval Quarter, City centre

Hello- my husband & I will be heading to Barcelona in June and would like some advice on the best way (other than a cab) to get from Term. 1 into the City centre, specifically the Raval Quarter (hotel Abba Rambla). We have done some research but would really like to hear from someone who has had the experience, and can give us clear direction. Any help would be appreciated, many thanks!

The Aerobus works really well it is easy, safe and comfortable. You could take that to the last stop ( Placa Catalunya) and take a cab from there. The previous stop, Universität, is a bit closer, but I do not recall if there is a cab stand there. There is no Metro stop that will get you closer, Liceu is still 7 or 8 blocks to the east. If younwant to walk the last part, leave the Aerobus at Universität and walk south.

Thanks Sasha! I am guessing it is pretty easy to locate where we hook up with the Aerobus at the terminal then? ( and we are not using the coloured line buses??) Also, you mention "Liceu", sorry not sure what you are referring to with that - is that a street name? Thanks again!

Itoowould recommend the Aerobus, especially after a long flight. Mthe buses are blue and say " Aerobus" in large letters on the side. There is one serving T1 and one serving T2. The bus stop is marked and easy to find as you exit the arrivals area to the street. Cost is 5,90€ each in cash. You just pay the driver as you board, as I recall. I made sure I had 12€ in small change to pay. Our hotel was close enough to the Universität stop that we just walked, but if yours is farther you should take a taxi. I believe Sasha was referring to the Liceu metro stop, not a street. Metro will not get you significantly closer to your hotel than the Aerobus, and is Alain with luggage. The Aerobus has large luggage racks and nice seats with big windows for views. Nyou go right along a major boulevard so it is good for getting oriented to Barcleona. When Imwas planning our trip to Barcelona I found Google maps, satellite view, very helpful. You can pinpoint your hotel and then it will show the plazas, metro stops, mand other important things nearby.

Thanks Lola! Great info!! Much appreciated!
Coming home we may want to grab a cab from the hotel (Raval Quarter) to the airport - does anyone have an idea of cost on that? I have heard it is more $ on a Sunday, but we will be flying home on a Tues. Thanks again

Hi again-I like the online Barcelona Tourist Guide for information about transport to and from the airport, including taxis: http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/barcelona-airport-transport.html And on the taxi page there is a link to the Offical taxi fares and supplements chart, but I've added it here: http://www.taxibarcelona.cat/Portals/0/pdfs/Adhesiu%20TARIFES%202012%20ok.pdf So yes, there is a supplement for Sunday travel, and a charge per bag, in addition to the usual airport fare.
