I will be traveling from Bamberg to the Munich airport by train. Are there any trains that go directly to the airport? If not how much time should I allow to to get to the airport from the train station in Munich for a flight to Paris? Is it easy to get transportation from the main train station to the airport?
Or should I consider driving from Bamberg to the airport?

Lisa, you need to take an ICE from Bamberg to Munich Hbf and then an S-Bahn into the airport. Total journey time incl. the change is 2:48 hrs. Check with www.bahn.de, select international guests...

on bahn.de just query Bamberg to Munich Airport. As arrival time select 60 minutes prior to your departure and then chose the connection with only 1 change (which is Munich Hbf) closest to that time. S-Bahns to the airport run every 10 minutes, journey time is between 20 and 30 minutes...
There is an S-bahn to the airport about every 10 minutes. Depending on the route (S1 or S8) the trip will take 39-41 minutes.
Looking at the Bahn website for a weekday, I don't see a 12:30 arrival at Muenchen Hbf, but I do see one arriving at 12:39. DB recommends catching the 12:58 S8 to the airport. It arrives at the airport at 13:37, which is probably cutting it too close for a 12:50 international flight. In fact, any connection using the 12:39 arrival will be too close.
There is a 9:30 RE out of Bamberg, connecting to an ICE in Nürnberg at 10:15 and arriving in Munich at 11:41. With that connection you could take the 11:58 S8 to the airport and get there at 12:37, more than the recommended 2 hours early.
