Bahn website changes

Deutsche Bahn has revamped their schedule and fare webpage. there's now a lot more "white space" (search results are more spread out. More scrolling.) but everything still seems to be there. I do think I've had some problems with the search date. Seems like I put in 9:00 and it started me with 5 something, and I had to click on "later" to see 9:00. Several times but not always.

The page opens with all the options, stopovers and mode of transport, showing, but if you get a list of connections, you have to click on "changes" twice ("changes", then "change other data") to see them again.

I came across that today too.

I surely hope it returns to some semblance of its former self. Not only is there lots more white space but the fonts aren't right.

I'm sure I can work with it, but like so many apps and websites it seems to think it has unlimited real estate.

I haven't had any date or time problems yet.

Nigel, I don't think you can expect the Bahn to return to any "semblance of its former self". I think this is the new look. But I'm with you. I don't see this as an improvement, just a change.

Perhaps the changes are to conform to the app's layout and ease of use?

This new format definitely seems to be optimized for tablets and other smaller screens. I just looked at it on my phone, and it is identical to how it looks on my desktop computer.

I had a brief look at the new format, and it's certainly easy to read. I searched a couple of routes and it all worked well, as usual. I just had a look at the DB app, and the appearance is similar.

The new format does not allow one to show details for all connections on a page, or once details are shown for multiple connections, to hide all details on a page. You now have to show/hide details only for individual connections.

I'm used to the DB site changing once a year but not a fan of this change, and especially of losing the show/hide option for all details.

Hopefully they will do some further "fine tuning" on the website and restore the original features.

I'm using the DB website to note down the scheduling of trains in June and its new format, just another thing to get used to. It's all right once you get the hang of it. They changed two words in the instructions, the format now uses "verbergen" whereas the old format used the word " ausblenden," the opposite of "einblenden" still used by the present format.
