Baggage storage in Lazare Station in Paris

We are flying into Orly and taking taxi to Lazare Station to continue on to Bayeux on the train. We have been traveling other places and need to store luggage before taking the train. On line I see that there is no storage at Lazare. After being at Bayeux, we will take train back to Paris Lazare to stay a few days in Paris. First does anyone have any suggestions on where to store our bigger piece of luggage? Will it be a problem with several pieces of luggage on train from Lazare to Bayeux if we have to take it? Thanks.

Carol, Every other station in Paris has luggage storage. You can take your bags to another station close to your hotel. BTW, it's St. Lazare (pronounced "san"). If you say only Lazare to your taxi driver, it could be confusing. Without knowing how many extra bags you have, it's difficult to know if it will be a problem. One or two wouldn't be a problem if you can handle them on your own; you just place them on the racks at the end of your train car.

The Man in Seat 61 lists the stations with left luggage, including a photo of a locker at Gare du Nord. He is the king of the rails. http://www.seat61.com/luggage-on-european-trains.htm#Left luggage lockers in Paris Only you can tell how much baggage you can lug onto a French train, where relatively tight quarters will tax both manoeuvrability and muscles.
Is it possible to contact your final hotel regarding storage? Perhaps the hotel will help out. Any of these options involves considerable nuisance.

As Southam suggests, check with the hotel in Paris where you will be staying when you return from Bayeux. They might even provide free storage. Alternatively, you could store your luggage at Blue Marble Travel. They offer public storage in addition to storage for people taking one of their bicycle tours. It will be much cheaper than at a train station.
