My daughter just flew into Gatwick this morning from Florence after a semester abroad. For some reason, in Florence they did not check her bag through to Charlotte, NC, her final destination. She did not have time to pick up her bag in Gatwick and check it onto her U.S. Airways flight to Charlotte, so her bag is presently sitting in the Meridiana baggage claim area and she is on a U.S. Airway flight to the US -- in tears. What do we do to retrieve that bag? Thank you, Terry

Why did she decide not to collect her baggage? She should have collected it and if she she missed her US Airways flight they would have put her on a later plane(possibly on a partner airline) or rerouted her through other cities. In any event, this is easily resolved by calling both airlines, they can put the bag on later flights and either have it delivered to your home, or collected at the airport. Although the bag will have to be opened and hand inspected for security reasons.
