Baggage check during a long layover

We will have a 9 hour layover at London Heathrow prior to our flight to Budapest. Is there a convenient place we can check our carryon luggage while we explore London during the layover?

Ron, I know this comment doesn't relate to the original question. I'm not sure a 9 hour layover will leave you enough time in London. Say 1 hour to clear customs, 1/2 hour to get into city, another 1/2 hour to get back. I would think you'd need to be back at least 2 hrs before your flight. That would leave you 5 hrs in London. I've seen posts where people suggest going to Windsor instead of London.

I'd never ever go back to Heathrow with just 2-hours advance on a connecting flight whose board passes have been printed. Leaving central London just 3 hours before flight? NEVER. Too risky.

Is 9 hours too long to book your luggage through to your final destinateion from here? My nephew only had 5 hours at Heathrow and managed to see London, walk the south Bank from Westminster to the Tower and they got back timely- much too rushed for me;but he enjoyed it. Nine hours should be a breeze. Use the Tube so you dont get stuck in traffic. And if you can book your luggage through do so. One less thing to worry about

We used the left luggage facility at Heathrow Terminal 5 during our 7-hour layover in June. It was about 20 GBP, as I recall, for 2 suitcases. Allow some extra time to pick up - there was a short line when we returned..... I wasn't comfortable going into London but we had a fun time in Windsor - a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Heathrow. (If you go, call a Windsor taxi company to pick you up - it costs 20 GBP compared to 50 for the black cabs at Heathrow.)

It would be only a 25-30 minute ride on the tube from Heathrow into London. Take the Piccadilly (Blue) line to Earls Ct, drop off the luggage at Excess luggage outsite the Earls Ct station on Earls Ct road (NOT Warwick exit), then hop back on the tube District line (green) and it'll take you to Wesminster (10 minutes), where you can see Big Ben, London eye, etc. You can also get to Tower Hill via District line and see the Tower of London and Tower Bridge (still fun to see without going on tour).

Tami, I think the excess baggage place on Earls Court Road may have closed. I recall walking by it when I was there last April and the place was empty. Maybe it was just temporary. Ron, I would use one of the left luggage desks at Heathrow. Normally a 9 hour layover would give you plenty of time to get into London do a bit of sightseeing and get back.
