sorry, marion, your fingers may have slipped when you typed your question because its not completely clear. If you have some special arrangement to get your bags all the way from home to your hotel and if your question is how to do it in reverse I would suggest contacting the people who created your special arrangement and ask them. I'm surprised that it would be door to door - I'm surprised that you won't have to go through Customs with your luggage.

I explained this on the other thread, and via PMs, but I will do it again..... Swiss Rail offers this service to deliver ones bags from any overseas airport to most any Swiss Station: http://tinyurl.com/cgk7cxj The way it works is that you purchase special baggage tags from Rail Europe or a travel agent. When those tags are spotted by airport personnel at Zurich Airport they are handed off to Swiss Rail for transport to the final destination. Because of security concerns it can't be done in the reverse back to the US unless you are flying on Lufthansa or Swiss. You might be able to send your bags ahead to the baggage counter at the Zurich Airport rail station 24 hours in advance, but you would have to collect the bags at the airport train station and lug them to the airline check-in desk. IMO that's an expensive hassle. More details here: http://tinyurl.com/7xb7bnd http://tinyurl.com/ctohxpr

Again thanks, but I guess I have not been detailed enough. I have the tags for the baggage, I am flying Swiss air, both ways. I have filled in baggage tags for trip over to Wengen, I am trying to get help to get the bags back from Wengen to Zurich., and perhaps on the plane. In other words, I am trying to get the same service I have on the wayout. I am flying Swiss air both ways. marion

Gotcha, This page explains how to get your bag back to the US using the same service: http://tinyurl.com/7xb7bnd Basically it works like this: the day before your flight bring your bags to the baggage counter at the Wengen train station. They will tag you bags to the US and hand them off to Swiss Rail for transport to your departing plane. They will also give you the boarding pass for your flight. There is nothing you need to do in advance, everything will taken care of at the Wengen train station. Cost is 22chf per bag payable at the Wengen train station.
