British Airways will begin seasonal, twice weekly nonstop service from Charleston, SC to Heathrow from April to October of next year. The airline will use a Boeing 787 which coincidentally is manufactured in Charleston.

It will have that 'new car smell' and no nasty surprises in the seat back pockets?
Good to know. BA is "our airline" for flying to Europe. Lately we have been flying from Seattle to different airports around the US to catch the BA flight to London from there several days later. It is a way of adding a visit to friends or family members to our Europe trip. We have friends in South Carolina so will add Charleston to our list.
Seems like such a small market for BA to try
@herronlaw This may also attract people from Hilton Head and Savannah who would like to avoid Hartsfield. And it would definitely be a good option from Columbia. I think they can fill it with only 2 a week.
i had no idea there was any aircraft manufacturing in Charleston!!

just a bit of activity
@kim Airbus has a manufacturing facility in Mobile AL. Manufacturers love the non-union labor and lower cost of living.
