I just received an email from BA announcing a fare sale that goes through 5/25. Book by 1/24. There is an increase after 3/24, but not huge. An example fare from SEA-LHR on 3/22-3/31 for two is $1450.54 ($341/pp plus $384.27 taxes).
To get their cheapest flight from 3/5-3/17 (off days) it comes to $1230.54 for two ($231/pp plus $384.27 tax).
We did this flight in early March '06 and paid just over $200/pp for the fare but taxes were about the same, for a $406/pp total fare. Unfortunately the taxes and fees have almost doubled since then.
I only wanted to add a "thanks" for noting ticket price and specifying taxes and fees. Maybe a pet peeve, but ticket prices are tossed around on this board with many failing to mention if they are including taxes and fees. Your example is a clear reason why any price mentioned should always include the taxes, they can be as much as the ticket and do vary by airline and destination.
Your welcome Paul,
I thought it was important since this is likely the exact fare sale we took advantage of two years ago. The fare price doesn't seem to have changed much, but the taxes and fees have went out of this world!
But, it's still a really good flight on what (until late March, I think) is the only direct flight out of Seattle to London.
Now if I were really on the ball, I'd have sample fares for others... :)
