I am renting a car from Avis and the address is ACI Marina-Served by RJI-C2T at Liburnijska 0Cesta BB. I need to know how far away this is from Opatija - we are staying at the Hotel Milenj (Millenium) and what public trnasporation is available to get there.
I am also trying to find out if there is apublic bus going from Opatija to Plitvice Lakes. I cannot find a tour company that will be making the trip in October and I am desperate to see this magnificent place.

Ah, Opatija, not your typical Croatian beach town, is it? The classiest resort town in Croatia, it has been called. Go to www.viamichelin.com and enter the full address of the Avis location in the Maps box and if the address is correct it will show you the address and then you can use the Driving Directions box to determine how far it is from Opatija. The transportation question is more difficult to answer. The michelin website will show you where the hotel is (if you have the address) but won't tell you what public transportation is available. I'm out of ideas on that but you might want to post your question on the To The East section of the Helpline. And also use the Search function (upper right box) to browse for prior discussions. Re getting to Plitvice by bus, it's a bit tricky--suggest you read Rick's discussion of how to do it in his book Croatia & Slovenia 2008.
