We are arriving at the Avignon Centre train station and need to go to the Avignon TGV train station to pick up our Hertz rental car. Is there a train or bus that runs between these stations? If we take a taxi, does anyone know an approximate cost? Thanks for any assistance

Until recently there was a bus shuttle but last year a railway line was opened between the two stations. The trains are timed for connections with TGV services and are a bit irregular. The timetable is at http://telechargement.ter-sncf.com/Images/Paca/Tridion/Virgule_Avignon__tcm-27-95915.pdf
I couldn't find any fare information but try voyages-sncf.com

Philip, thanks for this information. I can't see how a few minutes on a train between the two stations will be any easier than the old bus shuttle, but trying to sort out the logic of the efficient but complicated French rail system can lead only to head-shaking acceptance of what is.
