Any suggestions on the most economical method to get from Avignon to London. We will either take the train or drive. Just debating a long scenic drive or the efficiency of the train. Any suggestions pros or con?
Hiring a car in France and dropping it off in London is never going to be an economic choice. Somehow, you will have to pay for the car to be returned to France, possibly all the way to Avignon.
The driving part is not difficult. Million of Europeans every year take their own cars, with their steering wheels on the wrong side, and drive them in other countries. It's a good idea if it's your own car, and you make a return journey, but not for a one-way trip in a hired car.
Thank you Kent and Bob. I am convinced now. I will leave my rental in Avignon and take the train. The TGV is the fastest train back to Paris I beleive, then another across the chunnel. Any other helpful hints?
