I've rented exclusively through AutoEurope ten or more times and have been very happy with their service and prices. One thing I have learned is to continually check the rental rate you are paying. Today I received a promotional email offering "Special pricing has been extended until midnight, Monday, July 31st." So I checked my existing reservation and sure enough, my rental fee dropped from $237 to $183 for the exact same vehicle, same rental agency, same extended insurance coverage! All I did was pay for the new reservation and then cancel the old one. A few weeks back when I checked on it, there would have been a $34 increase in the rental charge. Last year I had a similar experience on a 10 day rental in Sardinia.
Thanks, Philip. The one-week rental I had not previously completed just made the same price drop.
Auto rentals and hotels. I've saved a ton over the years by continuingly checking rates after I've made a reservation, right up until check in or pick up.
The year I rented a car from AutoEurope I also find a big price difference between www.autoeurope.com and www.autoeurope.eu The later site saved us lots of $ and offered a zero deductible policy
I had the same experience with hotels on booking.com on our recent Grand Canyon trip. Kept checking back and saved $200 on a three night stay. This is a good tip, I will do that on Autoeurope next time, too.
