My Wife & I want to rent a Car for a week while we are in Germany/Italy we are flying into Frankfurt. Any suggestions on renting from which company? Who may have the best deals? There will be four of us traveling.

gemut.com or autoeurope. There is an affiliation between the two but different contacts. I would try both and see who gives a better rate. I know from experience the rates and customer service through gemut are very good and have also heard the same about autoeurope.

Travelers reporting here have reporting getting the best deals at: http://www.autoeurope.com/carsplash.cfm?aff=RICKSTEVESSixt, Avis, and Gemut.com have also been mentioned favorably on this board, for rental cars in Germany.

Are you planning on droppingof the car in Italy or returning to Germany? If dropping in Italy beware of the huge droppoff charges for returning in another country.It might be better to train to Italy and rent a second car.
