I have been looking at Renault USA for a car lease for our 3 weeks in Europe 9/09, but have seen a lot of positive postings about Auto Europe. Their website talks about the "Buy back" program as the lease program. The words Buy Back give me a small pause. Anyone had any problems with them "buying back" the car? At this point it looks the better option over Renault, but I want to be sure on the wording. Thanks.
Linda:
I have done the Renault lease program twice. On both occasions it was the easiest and most trouble free part of our long vacations. I do not know about the Auto Europe program. But I heartily recommend the Reanult program. Have fun.
I've leased a Renault for a Europe trip. I haven't done Auto Europe's buy back program. I would assume it's just another way to say lease.
I did the Auto Europe lease and it was great! You have to make your arrangements ahead of time. I think I did mine a few months before, so if you are interested you should decide very soon. The cost, in U.S. dollars, included everything. There was no nickle and diming you for extra insurance or anything like that. Papers are sent to you to complete and return to them. They did want bank account information in case you don't return the car. I gave them an account number with very little money in it. When you land - if that's when you are picking up the car - you call the contact person and they pick you up at the airport to transport you to the car. Then you sign a paper and receive the key to a brand new car. No problems with the "buying back" either. When you turn it in you simply sign another paper and away you go. I tried to get them to let me keep the license plate, but no dice. I did get to keep the key chain. :) I highly recommend the buy back program through Auto Europe.
I've used Renault Eurodrive several times. Very easy, absolutely no problems with the "buy back" part.
Thank you all for your great info and also the encouraging words for the lease program. We've booked our car and are set to go - can't wait!! Thanks again.
