Auto Europe

Has anyone booked a rental car through this company? If so did you have any problems or concerns? My husband and I are looking to book our rental car for our March trip but I don't know anything about them. I would like to use them if they are cheaper than Hertz or Avis but I am worried about being surprised with charges that don't tell me about, not being able to get in touch with someone if we have problems or the car breaks down, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm an enthustiastic customer of Autoeurope. I've used them since 1993.

What you should know: They're a consolidator, which means they represent rental agencies in Europe. Frequently, the agency is Europcar but it could be Hertz, Avis, etc. Autoeurope guarantees that it offers the best rate.

After using their website you should call their 800 number in Maine. They have great staff who can make sure you have the best deal.

Karen, we have used them 8 times since 1998 and always have been very pleased. If you book and then find the rates have come down you only have to email them or call and they will give you the lower rate happily. We have always had Europe Car as the actual rental firm and been happy with them too. They are based in the US so easy to contact them and they give you a number you can call from europe if you need help.
Have a great trip.

Karen.. Our travel agent always gets our car thru Auto Europe-- I think they are a consolidator, get the cheapest prices even on nicer cars. We have always been happy with the cars we have gotten, In Venice Auto Europe got us a car with Europcar. It even had a GPS. We tooled around Italy for a month. Never had a problem.

Hi Karen,
We just got a car through Auto Europe this past October from Frankfurt and returned it to Munich. They are a consolidator and we wound up with an Avis car from the Avis counter. We reserved it through...

www.gemut.com

All went well with no problems at all, plus you can always call Andy Bestor at Gemut with questions, concerns, etc.
