ATVO travel card in Venice

Can the ATVO travel card be used for bus from Marco Polo airport to Piazzale Roma, as well as Vaporettos?

According to www.veniceforvisitors.com and Rick Steves' Venice 2011 the ATVO travel card is NOT good on the bus from the airport to Venice.
