Atocha Connection

We are going to be traveling from Seville to Toledo and I'm wondering what your minimum recommended connection time would be at Atocha. We are arriving from Seville at 8:55 on the AVE. Would we have enough time to catch the 9:20 AVE to Toledo or should we opt for the 10:20 instead?

Will you have been through Atocha before that, so you know the layout of the station? If so, that should be enough time. The line to put your bags through security checkmis minimal and moves very quickly. Check the board to determine whether your train leaves from the upper pr lower departure area. When we were there the Toledo trays all seemed to leave from the lower area (Planta Baja) but I don't know if that is consistent. They may not post the track number until they are ready for boarding, but younwill want to be in the correct departure area.

I would aim for the 10:20. The train from Sevilla will be on time for its arrival. And the train to Toledo will also be on time. If you are not on time, you will not be traveling.....It will take 5 or minutes if you rush to get to the area to find the track to Toledo, a couple of minutes to find the track and ticket stand, a couple more minutes to get through the tickets stand, a couple of minutes to get the luggage inspected, and, if your train car is at the end, you will need to run to get it. It can be done, but I would be safe and takethe 10:20. You will still be in Toledo at 11!!! As you likely know, the ticket has the car (coach) number and the seat number on it.

Thanks for your advice. We've booked the 10:20 to give ourselves some peace of mind.
