Does anyone have first hand knowledge about the TSA wait times at the international terminal. Have precheck, but ????
I was supposed to fly to ATL this weekend (probably cancelling) and I’ve been looking at Reddit for firsthand reports—hope that helps! I think all you can do is resign yourself to being there extremely early. Sounds like a mess with no end in sight.
This is a thread from today: https://www.reddit.com/r/Atlanta/comments/1rwyz6p/5am_atl_airport_update/
Not good news, sorry.
I am also looking at the airport TSA line website, but I cannot determine if it is remotely accurate. Things seem to change on a dime.
https://www.atl.com/times/
ATL locals with newspaper subscription can get manually entered data at https://www.ajc.com/business/2025/11/live-airport-security-wait-times-and-todays-trends/
Check the local Atlanta TV news stations. There are probably live reports during the news program along with their streaming service if there are longer than normal lines.
No personal knowledge, but news reports indicate ATL, JFK , Houston-Hobby, and 1-2 others have a 'sick call' rate of 30%.
Would definitely add some additional cushion to whatever you usually do. Better to be bored than in a panic ( or left behind)
I'm flying tomorrow out of ATL (also with TSA Pre). I have been checking in with the Atlanta subreddit periodically.
It sounds like early AM is bad especially if you don't have TSA Pre. Multiple people reporting that long lines in regular security lanes caused them to miss their flight. Clear has been closed. Touchless ID has been open intermittently.
Lots of people have been trying to bypass the long lines in Domestic by going over to International, but TSA Pre doesn't open til 7 over there and closes for a couple hours during the day, so that has created extra long lines.
Mid afternoon and later seems to be far better.
The TSA wait times on th e website have been determined to be completely wrong.
Just a warning do not assume the Atlanta airport website is correct
Yesterday I’m sitting here watching the news and they’re showing the line and it’s very long and they have a sign that the TSA people have put up that says it’s 100 minutes from this point and I’ll look on the Atlanta airport website and it says the wait time is zero minutes for every security checkpoint. .

Some airports are updating their websites, but perhaps not ATL. If it was me, I'd consult a number of different resources including Reddit (I'm sure there's a wait time thread), Flyertalk, the airport website, and even Facebook/Insta. I know many are social media averse but these are not easy times. Safe travels and hopefully you have a lot of time to kill on the other side of security.
