Do trains go between Assisi to Montepulciano? I am trying to get to the two places in one day. Any help? Thanks, from a fellow traveler :)
Yes, you can take a train. The trip is from 2 to 3.5 hours depending on when you leave and connections. When you say I am trying to get to the two places in one day what do you mean? Hard to see both of these towns in one day especially with a 3 hour train trip. Assisi alone takes a good full day to see the highlights. Research to your heart's content at http://www.trenitalia.com. Click on the English link at the top of the menu. I think the train station at Montepulciano is a bit distant from the town and you'll need a taxi or bus to get to the center.
Thank you for your help! I have 2 weeks visiting my boyfriend in Florence and I want to go to a ton of places in a short amount of time including going to Ravenna and Milan plus all over Tuscany. I guess I could make them two separate trips. Any other advice about traveling within Tuscany? I have done a lot of it before but I could do with any tips. Do trains run on Sundays?
