I had a reservation for a 1st class, 2 person sleeper and SNCF(Trenatalia) placed us in 2nd class due to "mechanical problems" with our car. Amazingly, there was no one but Americans who were downgraded like us on the same car. There were other 1st class cars on the train that had paper numbers attached, so any car could have been designated the downgrade choice, so it must have been "coincidental".
Has anyone been successful after sending in a complaint form with documentation signed by the conductor to the SNCF rail in Paris? If so, how long does it take for a response? I have not found a email address or phone number for confirmation that they even received it.
